Tyler Blackburn Reveals Why He Took a Leave of Absence on 'Roswell, New Mexico' Season 4

Tyler Blackburn is opening up about being away from Roswell, New Mexico for many episodes.

The 35-year-old actor and his character Alex have been missing from the last eight episodes of the CW show’s final season.

On the most recent episode, “Follow You Down,” which aired Monday night (August 22), Alex returned, and Tyler took to Twitter to share the real reason he was gone.

Find out what he said inside…

“Alex is alive! Thank you to my knight in shining armor @MichaelVlamis and the incomparable @heatherhemmens for her insane creativity, professionalism and patience. Also, thank you to the @RoswellNMRoom and the entire crew of @CWRoswellNM for helping me this season,” Tyler wrote on his account.

He then went on to explain he stepped away to focus on his mental health.

“I was dealing with intense health issues that lead to, at times, intense mental health issues during seasons 3 & 4. I had to step down from filming season 4 and every single person in the cast and crew, as well as everyone at @warnerbros and @TheCW showed so much compassion,” he shared.

“I am forever grateful to the human beings that made up this show. 🫂” Tyler concluded.

In this week’s episode, “Follow You Down,” As Liz (Jeanine Mason) begins to see the error of her ways, she is quickly faced with a new threat which forces her to make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, Max (Nathan Dean) finds himself in an intense standoff and Michael (Michael Vlamis) begins to lose hope of ever reuniting with Alex (Blackburn).

There are only TWO more episodes left of Roswell, New Mexico, with the series finale airing on Monday, September 5th.
