Dancing With The Stars returns for season 31 TONIGHT (September 19) on it’s new home at Disney+!
This will be the first live-streamed series on the streaming service and there have already been a couple changes made.
Firstly, we got a second host, with Alfonso Ribeiro joining Tyra Banks, and secondly, there are more celebs competing – 16 total this season.
With the show moving to Disney+, which doesn’t have any ads (yet), they have to make some changes to fill what would have been commercial breaks.

With the need to fill time and space, the skybox will be making a return to the ballroom, with new co-host Alfonso doing interviews with the cast!
The skybox has not been featured on the show since the dancing competition made some hosting changes, and now, the dancers and contestants will gather upstairs once again.
“We definitely needed to bring back an area of the set so that we can clear the stage and actually move stuff around,” executive producer Conrad Green told Variety. “So we brought back the skybox, and that meant bringing in a co-host as well. Alfonso is such a great addition to the team. He’s a former champion on the show, but he’s really passionate about it. He’s friends with a lot of the dancers, he really understands what makes the show tick and he brings humor to it and genuine interest in the celebrities and their journeys.”
Be sure to tune in for the season 31 premiere of Dancing with the Stars TONIGHT (September 19) at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Disney+!
