The CW is losing their very own CEO and President Mark Pedowitz!
The executive has been the head of the network since 2011 and has overseen many shows over the years, including the slate of DC Comics Arrowverse shows.
Mark‘s exit comes as Nexstar Media Group takes over The CW after purchasing a majority stake from CBS and Warner Bros, with Dennis Miller taking over as the new President of the network.

“We sincerely thank Mark for his many years of service to The CW and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” Nexstar chairman and CEO Perry Sook said in a statement, via Variety. “I look forward to working with Dennis and Sean Compton, Nexstar’s President of Networks, to build on the foundation that Mark Pedowitz and his team have established at both the CW Network and the CW App.”
At this moment, we still aren’t fully sure of what will happen with The CW after Nexstar’s takeover. The name will likely stay the same, at least for now, and the current 2022-2023 slate of shows will remain the same.
Nexstar is looking to make The CW profitable and a “more broad-audience and cost-conscious broadcast network” by 2025. There may be many more programming changes in the coming months, including a bigger shift to unscripted programming.
