  • 1. I’m a lumberjill. I’ve been throwing axes since I was 4 years old. I started with foam axes and then hatchets and now I have my very own custom made double bitted axe. I compete in logger sports competitions around BC [British Columbia]. My events are log rolling, axe throwing and choker racing.
  • 2. I’m what I call a “Caniwi.” My dad is from New Zealand and my mom is from Canada so, yeah, I’m a Caniwi!
  • 3. I have come way too close to death…twice. When I was younger and we were traveling around Australia performing lumberjack shows, I got Rotovirus. I had to be airlifted out and spent 4 days in the ICU. The other time, I got some kind of really bad flu. We were in The Shuswap in a remote area and I got really sick. That night, there was a really big snowstorm and the tractor wouldn’t start and we couldn’t find the keys to the snowmobile. I was having a really hard time breathing and the ambulance drivers couldn’t get up the road because of all the snow. Two ladies in a really big truck ended up getting me and driving me to the ambulance who then took me to a clinic that shot me with adrenaline and then when I stabilized a bit, I was then back in the ambulance and taken to the hospital.
  • 4. I love art. Right now I’m really enjoying painting with watercolors. I also like buying art and decorating my room with interesting pieces.
  • 5. My music tastes are a bit all over. I like a little bit of Hyperpunk Speedcore and a little bit of Country (mostly Dolly Parton and “Jolene” is my favorite). I also like ABBA, Queen and AC/DC.
  • 6. I bought my very first dog this year. His name is Fred (I call him Floof) and he is a Pomsky. A Pomsky is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky. He is a lot of fun, but I could never take him to set as he likes to talk a lot.
  • 7. I just learned how to crochet on the last movie I was making, and I love it. I’m currently making a scarf.
  • 8. On that note, something interesting is that I just wrapped a new movie that filmed in Newfoundland. We were down there for two months and got side swiped by two hurricanes. We were filming in a tiny fishing village with a population of 41!
  • 9. My favorite month of the year is October. I love Halloween and creating costumes. I also love sweater weather.
  • 10. My first ever role was in a tv series called Siren. I got to play a mermaid that also took the form of a human. People may not know but I worked with some of the best free divers in the world. They taught me how to expand my lungs for the underwater scenes, swim with my eyes open and also how to swim in a monofin. We shot half of that [series] in a gigantic tank in Vancouver. The best days were tank days and I got a t-shirt from the dive team that the entire cast and crew signed.
