Stephen Amell Was Nervous On First Day Back as Oliver on 'The Flash'

Stephen Amell is opening up about returning to his CW character Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on the final season of The Flash.

The actor reprises his character on the all new episode airing TONIGHT (April 26), titled “It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To.”

In the episode, Team Flash throws a surprise birthday party for Barry (Grant Gustin) but things go terribly awry when Ramsey Rosso (Sendhil Ramamurthy) crashes the festivities.

It’s been a few years since Stephen stepped into Oliver’s shoes, and he recently admitted he was nervous on his first day back.

See what he said inside…

“On my first day, I was definitely a little on the nervous side,” the Heels star told EW. “I just wanted to make sure that everything was good and it wasn’t tarnishing the legacy, so to speak.”

“I was nervous on the first take, also because there was — and this is always the case — a little bit of Flash jargon that I only say when I’m on The Flash,” Stephen added. “So I was a bit nervous for a second, but then it went away. It just felt pretty normal. I read the script about a month before I went back and shot it, and I had no notes.”

Stephen shared the returning to the Arrowverse and seeing familiar faces was really special.

“It was really, really special,” he told TV Insider. “You know, there were a lot of people working on Flash that had been a part of Arrow either when we had finished or just through the years. So, going back and seeing everybody was really special.”

Be sure to tune in to catch Stephen back on The Flash TONIGHT (April 26) at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. Check out an episode teaser here!
