Two Worlds Clash in Trailer for 'American Born Chinese' Ahead of Its Disney+ Premiere

Disney+ is setting two worlds on a collision course in the just-released trailer for their new series American Born Chinese.

Based on the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang and directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton, the show features a star-studded cast including Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.

The story centers on Jin Wang (Ben Wang), an average teenager who finds himself thrust into an unexpected situation after he’s introduced to Wei-Chen (Jimmy Liu), a new foreign student at his school. Jin winds up in the middle of a battle between Chinese mythological gods!

In the trailer, the two students meet, and the wild adventure begins. Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Daniel Wu and Sydney Taylor also star.

American Born Chinese will premiere May 24th on Disney+ and is set to feature a stacked lineup of guest stars.
