It’s been almost a year since we learned who will be starring in the show, based on RL Stine‘s books, and it’s been way over a year since it was first announced to be in the works.

“R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages,” Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said in a statement. “We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills, but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation.”
Goosebumps follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle — while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past.
It draws on elements from five of the Goosebumps books – “Say Cheese and Die!,” “The Haunted Mask,” “The Cuckoo Clock of Doom,” “Go Eat Worms!” and “Night of the Living Dummy.”
Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price all star.
The new series will premiere it’s first five episodes on Disney+ and Hulu on Friday, October 13th, with new episodes weekly after that.
The first two episodes will also air during Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween on October 13th, starting at 9pm ET/PT, filling two “TBD” timeslots that were left open when the schedule was announced last week.
