Alkaio Thiele let fans in on a little behind-the-scenes from the making of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place!
The young actor stars as Roman Russo, the eldest child of Justin Russo, who is very similar to his father.
As filming begins on the upcoming second season, Alkaio took to social media and shared the original concept for his character’s wardrobe, which he called “nerd-chic.”

“#bts the initial concept for Roman Russo’s wardrobe was a little surprising… nerd-chic with an unreal number of layers! 😳 SUPER thankful they decided to go a slightly different direction bc i was suffocating in layers 😅 i [heart] the costume department!” Alkaio captioned his post.

A few days later, Andy Fickman, who directed the first and last episode of season one, and several in between, shared on social media that they were starting production on the first episode of season two.
“Talk about MAGICAL! 1st day of class for Season Two of WIZARDS BEYOND WAVERLY PLACE and the laughter has been non-stop on & off the set! Great to have the family reunited again! Can’t wait for you to see the spells we cast this season! Writing is sooo good!” he captioned a post on Instagram on Monday (April 14).
