Just Jared Jr: This is your first musical movie, and Freya’s first movie ever. How was it jumping into a project like this, with singing, dancing and acting?

Freya: I mean, something on this scale, I feel like there’s no way to kind of prepare for it. But I feel like we were just both kind of, we jumped straight in at the deep end and figured it out as we went. But it was so much fun. And I think it’s just such an, it was so immersive getting to work on Zombies. There’s hardly any green screen. There’s so much location. So, it’s really easy to kind of immerse yourself in the Zombies universe because it is just surrounding you. But yeah, it was just a such a fun experience. Joining a franchise as beloved as Zombies is crazy and the fans are just so welcoming, which was all we could really ask for.

Malachi: Yeah, no, I couldn’t agree more. It was such a fun experience. Very, very grateful.

Just Jared Jr: Your characters Nova and Victor are kind of the new Zed and Addison. Were you intimidated at all stepping into these roles?

Malachi: I mean, I think that, obviously there’s like… I don’t know if it’s intimidation. It’s more like, there’s a little bit of pressure coming into such an already established franchise, but also the OGs, we came in and they were just open arms, so accepting and just so helpful because they know the franchise so well. I know I just said this earlier, but I’m just really grateful to be a part of it and get to create with some really, really creative people.

Freya: Yeah, I mean, it’s big shoes to step into, but I guess like you said, having the OGs to learn from and watch, and see them kind of in that element with something that they are so experienced in and know so much about, was the most incredible thing to have and kind of get to watch them do. It was almost like a cheat sheet seeing them do it because they know it so well. They know it inside and out just kind of going to learn from them and them kind of teach us the ways was so fun.

Just Jared Jr: What are some of the best things you learned from Meg and Milo?

Freya: Honestly, too many lessons to put into words, but one that really stuck with me was, I guess this being my first movie, I didn’t really know fully how the whole kind of thing went. And it really does go so fast. It’s over before you know it. They just always told me to live in the moment and take every day as it comes, and just enjoy it. Because like I said, it goes so fast. We’re already doing press and it comes out in like two weeks, which is insane to think about. So yeah, just enjoying every second of it, because it’s gone like that.

Malachi: Copy and paste. I couldn’t agree more!
