Sophia Hammons and Julia Butters were meant to be co-stars!
The two young actresses are starring in the upcoming movie Freakier Friday, and during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Today Show Radio with Hoda Kotb, they dished on meeting each other for the first time and how Sophia was a big fan of Julia‘s beforehand.

“Meeting Sophia felt like when I was in kindergarten and on the playground. And I would like find a girl to talk to and then boom, we were like best friends,” Julia dished. “It just happened so quickly and like immediate. It was kind of just instinct. And it wasn’t hard at all to like get along. We had so much in common.”
“Well, I’ve been a fan of Julia for, I mean, I knew Julia before Julia knew me,” Sophia revealed. “Because this is crazy, because one of my favorite movies is Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, of like all time. And you were the best part of movie. You were literally the best part of that movie.”
“But as soon as it came out, I watched it in the theater like three times. And I had a poster, I’ve had a poster of it in my childhood bedroom for years,” she added. “And Julia is on the poster… We were scrolling on her Instagram and there are comments that I’ve left when I was younger. Guys. I’ve been here, I’ve been a day one.”
“When I learned that I was gonna be reading with you. You just, I don’t think you understand still that I was like freaking out,” Sophia said. “And then the fact that we got along so well, it was like more than a full circle. It was like, oh my gosh, everything is working out. It was like cosmic, like it was crazy. I manifested this, you guys. It’s possible.”
