Peacock Cancels YA Shows 'One of Us Is Lying' & 'Vampire Academy'

Peacock has canceled two of it’s only teen/YA shows on it’s platform!

Both One of Us is Lying and Vampire Academy have been axed by the streamer after their respective second and first seasons.

According to Deadline, “execs at Peacock were happy with both shows creatively but they just didn’t find the requisite audience to justify further seasons.”

Co-creator Julie Plec reacted to the Vampire Academy cancelation.

“I, too, am grumpy. This is a romantic, exciting, addictive show with a breakout cast, a passionate fan base and legions of story left to tell. Business is business and streamers have to find what works for them, but if you’re a network with a need for a vampire show, we’re avail,” she tweeted, in response to another reaction.

She also shared that they will definitely be looking for a new home for the show.

“To answer your question, yes we will absolutely be knocking on doors to find a new home for it. I just can’t fathom a show people like with so much story left to tell not having a chance to do so,” Julie said.

One of Us is Lying showrunner Erica Saleh wrote, “Making two seasons of One of Us is Lying was a joy and honor. I’m disappointed that our story won’t continue on Peacock, but I feel so lucky to have spent the past years alongside the best writers, cast, and crew I know, and so grateful to our fans for all the love and support.”
