HBO Executive Says 'Euphoria' Season 3 Will 'Ideally' Come Out in 2025

We have a new update on the status of the anticipated third season of Euphoria.

In a new interview, HBO’s head of drama, Francesca Orsi, offered a timeline of many of the shows, also including The Last of Us, House of the Dragon and The White Lotus, amid the writer’s strike, which has delayed production on MANY film and TV projects across the industry.

“While everything at this moment is pencils down, I’m hopeful that we can come to terms sooner than later. Otherwise we will have to assess what is the end of the 24 schedule, what are the shows that are going to be delivered for 2025,” Francesca told Deadline. “At this point, those shows that I’m looking to air wouldn’t necessarily be ready if this strike last six to nine months. So yes, that’s a big question for us, but I think we’ll cross that road once we come to it.”

And while it’s too early to tell, we’re looking at an even longer wait for Euphoria, which aired it’s season two finale in February 2022.

Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts,” Francesca added. “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.”

Back in April, it was revealed that season three of Euphoria was looking to start filming in June, however, weeks later the writer’s strike started and that has put a delay in production.

Zendaya was even just spotted back in Los Angeles!
