Charles Melton ate some of his favorite childhood treats while gearing up for his role in May December, and that includes pizza with a pretty atypical topping.
The 33-year-old Riverdale actor stars in the movie alongside Julianne Moore and Natale Portman and recently told W Magazine about the diet he was on to portray a character with a certain “softness.”

“It kind of just gave me this opportunity to eat whatever I wanted,” Charles told the outlet, recalling a fast food diet.
What else did he eat? “I ate a lot of favorite childhood snacks like Gushers and Fruit Rollups and ice cream.” His pizza order was particularly noteworthy as he was eating it topped with popcorn!
“It was great,” Charles said, admitting that he is still sneaking Gushers from time to time.
