Nicholas Galitzine has just been announced to be playing He-Man!
The 29-year-old actor will return to Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe, which has been in the works for several years now.

“’By the Power of Greyskull, I HAVE THE POWER!’” Nicholas shared on Instagram with the news. “I’m so beyond proud to announce that I will be playing Adam Prince of Eternia in ‘Masters of the Universe’. It has been a dream for so long to play someone of his heart, humour and heroism, I cannot wait to get started.”
Travis Knight will serve as director, with a script by Chris Butler. The initial draft of the script was written by David Callaham, with Aaron and Adam Nee. Plot details are being kept underwraps.
“We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man,” Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement. “Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”
Nicholas is the third actor attached to play He-Man/Prince Adam in the live-action movie.
Noah Centineo was first cast in 2019, but dropped out in 2021. Kyle Allen was then cast in the role as the movie was moving from Sony Pictures to Netflix.
Last November, it was revealed that Netflix dropped the movie and there were talks of Amazon MGM Studios picking up the film.
Nicholas, of course, has a longstanding working relationship with Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. He has starred in several movies with them, including Cinderella, Bottoms, Red, White & Royal Blue, the forthcoming RWRB sequel, and the most recent The Idea of You!
