SpongeBob Squarepants fans are getting fed this year!
The long-running animated Nickelodeon series is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year and we just got some brand new news on two upcoming movies in the SpongeBob universe.
Netflix announced on Thursday (June 6) that a movie centered around Plankton is coming to the streamer, plus, they unveiled new photos for the previously announced Sandy Cheeks movie!

Plankton: The Movie will premiere in 2025, and follows Plankton whose world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted.
Reprising their voice roles are Mr. Lawrence as Plankton, Jill Talley as his computer wife Karen, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, Clancy Brown as Mr Krabs and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward.
Premiering on Netflix on August 2, 2024, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie picks up when Bikini Bottom and all its denizens are suddenly scooped out of the ocean, Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob SquarePants journey to Texas to save the town from a villainous plot.
The above cast members will all reprise their roles, along with Wanda Sykes, Johnny Knoxville, Craig Robinson, Grey Delisle, Ilia Isorelys Paulino and Matty Cardarople.
