That’s a wrap on the upcoming The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen!
Disney revealed that filming has finished on the fourth Cheetah Girls movie, which will reunite several OG stars and introduce a new group of Cheetahs.
“That’s a wrap on The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen,” Disney shared on Instagram, along with a video of the cast and executive producer Debra Martin Chase shouting the same words.
What is The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen about?
The story picks up when Cheetah Girls Galleria and Chanel, alongside Galleria’s daughter Faith and her three friends, travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. Along the way, these four teen girls test their friendship, find their voice, and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls.
OG star Raven-Symoné is set to executive produce alongside the first three movies’ executive producer Debra Martin Chase.
Bille Woodruff has been tapped to direct, with a script by Kara Holden, Sarah Watson, and Deborah Swisher. In addition, famed choreographer Kyle Hanagami (Mean Girls) will choreograph!
Who stars in the movie?
Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon will reprise their roles as Galleria and Chanel, respectively, while Sabrina Bryan also returns as Dorinda in a special appearance. Kiely Williams, who played Aqua, is not set to return.
Leah Sava Jeffries has been cast as Raven‘s daughter, Faith, Electric Bloom’s Carmen Sanchez will play Adrienne‘s sister, Dior, Kaileen Chang joins as Ruby, and Sophie Lennon has been cast as Brooklyn.
Also joining the cast is newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala as Kendi. He is a local South African actor who was discovered during Disney’s global open casting call!
In addition, OG stars Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter will be back as Dorothea and Juanita, Galleria and Chanel’s moms, and Sophia Bush joins as Jennifré.
Filming took place in South Africa, starting in July and recently wrapping up.
The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen does not yet have a release date, but is said to be “coming soon.”
